Technology Provides Real Estate Success Tools
In the past year, real estate professionals have witnessed changes not just in the market but also in the economic environment of the United States. The industry has shifted its focus to technology as a form of communication between agents, homebuyers, and sellers as a result of the burgeoning buyers market. The majority of individuals begin their property search online, but real estate technology is more than simply websites.
Coldwell Banker sponsored an interactive billboard in Times Square from July 6 to August 2, 2009. Cell phone text requests received by potential buyers on this billboard drive the real-time display of requested home listings. Viewers may see the highest, median, and lowest priced real estate in every U.S. zip code by just texting the word "homes" and the zip code. "Consumers desire instant access to internet listings, and this ad underlines how easy it is to discover listings and information, anytime, anywhere," said Michael Fischer, senior vice president of marketing for Coldwell Banker Real Estate LLC, in a July 2009 press release.
National real estate firms, such as Coldwell Banker, have also launched YouTube.com channels. According to a May 4, 2009 press release titled "New Coldwell Banker 'On Location' YouTube channel first in Industry to Fully Tap Power of Video for Real Estate Search and Insights," Coldwell Banker launched Coldwell Banker on Location, a channel "designed to offer consumers a new way to search for and interact with real estate information and listings." "To create On Location, Coldwell Banker worked closely with both YouTube, a Google company, and Google to design a bespoke foundation and user experience," according to the press announcement. On Location is the first branded YouTube channel to search for videos using dynamic IP lookup, which gives up local results when users first arrive.
Agents and search firms are now acknowledged as market leaders, trusted advisors, and specialists. Furthermore, online exposure as a buyer or seller is required for success. Realtor.com, one of the most well-known websites, receives around 6.6 million unique visitors every month. There's no doubting that technology now plays a significant role in real estate.
